In the meantime ... I thought you might like my superfood smoothie recipe.  I have this either in the morning, or afternoon.  It depends what I feel like.  I hope you like it!


This smoothie is a meal in itself.  It's dense with calories and full of nutrition.  It will keep you satisfied for quite a few hours.


You'll need the following ingredients:

  • Almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 30gm of whey protein, or equivalent in rice or pea protein. (You can use flavour if you'd like)
  • One small handful of almonds (or you can use a tablespoon of LSA)
  • 1 tablespoon of Chia seeds (white or black)
  • 1 cup of baby spinach leaves
  • 1 scoop of super greens (choose a high quality powder from your health food supplier)
  • 1/2 tablespoon of virgin coconut oil (this is your dose of MCT - medium chain triglyceride)
  • 1 tspn of maca root powder
  • 1/4 of an avocado
  • 1/4 cup blue berries (organic, frozen berries are fine)
  • 200 mls of water
  • Handful (or two) of ice cubes ... to thicken to your taste

Simply add everything to your blender and blend until silky smooth.  You might have to experiment a little with the amount of water and ice to get a consistency that you prefer.  And remember ... sip it slowly.  The slower you consume your food, the less intense your insulin response is!
